What is Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE)?
LGPE is an annual, GMEA sponsored, event in which 7th and 8th grade band students participate. Groups are adjudicated by music educators from around the state and country. Students and directors are given positive feedback and constructive criticism that will enable us to continue our musical growth. The band will perform 3 pieces selected from a list as well as sight read. Each of the judges are given the musical score to look at while the group is performing. This is our MOST important performance of the year (think of it as the Georgia Milestones) and all 7th and 8th grade students are REQUIRED to participate.

How can I Help?
We will also need SEVERAL volunteers to chaperone the students, at least 10 per grade level. Volunteers will need to report to Five Forks and ride the bus with the students. We will also need at least 3 parents with cargo space in their vehicles to follow the buses, carrying lunches, instruments, and other equipment.
ALL rehearsals and concerts are required and are part of the students final grade. These dates have been on the band calendar and every student is expected to participate. Please make arrangements to be there and be on time!

Rehearsal ONE – Thursday, March 1st 2018 – 4-5:30pm – FFMS Band Room
Pre-LGPE Concert – Tuesday, March 6th 2018 Report at 5:30pm, Concert at 6:00pm – FFMS Cafeteria
Rehearsal TWO – Tuesday, March 13th 2018 – 4-5:30pm – FFMS Band Room
LGPE – Wednesday, March 21st 2018 – Performance @ Discovery High School 10:30am
Buses will depart FFMS at 9:00AM on 3/21/18 and will return to FFMS at 12:30pm.
