Classroom Policies
- Come directly to class, entering quickly, quietly, and get materials ready for class. The Daily Routine is posted outside of the Band Room door as a reminder for the students.
- Attendance is taken when Mrs. Romo begins instruction. Students must be ready to play at first downbeat. Students are permitted 1 tardy every 3 weeks. Subsequent tardiness will result in given a STEP on the FFMS Discipline Plan.
- Cooperate fully by following teacher’s directions immediately, completely and cheerfully.
- Raise your hand, not your voice, to be recognized by teacher.
1 finger is an important question.
Crossed fingers represents the request to leave your seat to go to the restroom, sharpen your pencil, etc.2 fingers raised represents an emergency or request to go to the nurse. - Respect the belongings of others. Do not touch or attempt to play any instrument that is not yours. This serves as your warning on this matter and then a STEP on the FFMS Discipline Plan be enforced on the next occurrence. Subsequent problems will be referred to the administrator.
- Have all reeds, oils, instruments, sticks, mallets, books, music and pencils every day.
- Put all materials away in the proper assigned place when you are dismissed from class.
- No food, drinks, gum or candy allowed in Band room (Water only) (automatic STEP on the FFMS Discipline Plan).
- Cooperate fully for guest instructors. Failure to do so will result in an automatic STEP on the FFMS Discipline Plan.

Loss of Preparedness Points
Daily deductions may occur for the following items:
No Pencil (-10pts)
No Book/Music (-10pts)
No Instrument (-20pts)
No Reed/Mouthpiece/Sticks (-20pts)
